As we enter into Holy Week, take a few moments to settle.  Ask God to be with you as we journey with Christ from darkness into light, fear into hope, and from death into life.

Dear Christ, I come before you today, asking you to make the words of your prophet Isaiah ring true in my life and my heart this day: “See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them.” May I not be weighed down by the things of my past, but see the new things you are doing in my life and in the world.  May I hope in your promises of things to spring forth, leaning not on my own understanding of the world, but trusting in you.  May I walk with you this Holy Week, dying to the things I need to die to, and rising to new life in you.  In your holy and blessed name, I pray, AMEN.

Close with the Lord’s Prayer, speaking slowly.
